The CAST Global Team
We have over a hundred people worldwide focused on your IP success.
A pioneer in the "virtual organization" approach, the CAST team is anchored by a core group of founders and key employees, all with engineering backgrounds.
We're complemented by tight partnerships with dozens of experts and firms around the world.
CAST Management Team
Our management team includes:
- Hal Barbour, President
- Bill Finch, Senior Vice President
- Newton Abdalla, Vice President for IP and Operations
- Meredith Lucky, Vice President of Sales
- Nikos Zervas, Vice President of Marketing
CAST Offices
Long before it reached today's popularity, CAST embraced the "home office" approach as en excellent way to deliver both superior service and outstanding value to our IP customers. Most of us still work primarily from home, enabling the 24-hour, super-fast response support for which we are known.
Our headquarters are in New Jersey near New York City, and several employees are situated in and around that area. We also have people in California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Brazil.
We also have a CAST engineering office in Brno, Czech Republic. Bus and interface experts there lead our in-house development in these areas. They're augmented by USA employees who develop serial communication, multimedia, and other cores, and lead our innovative work in designing, packaging, and delivering semiconductor IP for easy reusability.
Technology Partners
Our tight relationships with expert IP developers means customers of most of our products can still speak with the actual developers of their specific IP cores.
Alma Technologies, Greece
Some of the world's leading experts on image and video technology work at Alma Technologies in Greece, and they develop most of CAST's multimedia IP cores. Memory utilization is a critical concern for any image or video system, so Alma also develops CAST DDR memory controllers that work extremely well with our multimedia functions. Data encryption is also a passion of Alma engineers, and they provide many of these CAST cores.
Beyond Semiconductor, Slovenia
Beyond Semiconductor in Slovenia develops IP for advanced processors and related peripherals, including our BA22 family. Using the advanced, underlying Beyond Architecture, their engineers are able to design processor cores that stand above the industry in terms of performance, power efficiency, scalability, simplicity, and ease of use.
Evatronix, Poland
One of the leading hi-tech companies in Poland, Evatronix has been an instrumental CAST partner since the mid-90's. They develop our 8051 microcontroller family and many other processors, several memory controllers, Ethernet MAC controllers, USB controllers, and other bus and interface cores. An outstanding technical advisory board and close connections with local universities help ensure the leading-edge quality of Evatronix' work with CAST.
Fraunhofer Institute , Germany
As Europe's R&D partner to industry, the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques has been the source of multiple CAST cores through the years. Today we're proud to feature their excellent Flexible CAN 2.0 Bus Controller Core which is optionally extendable to a Dual CAN controller for applications with two CAN interfaces.
SoC Solutions, Georgia, USA
The engineers at SoC Solutions have years of experience developing, programming, debugging, and delivering diverse processor-based system designs. They provide system and application platforms using ARM, Tensilica, and other popular processors, comprising much of our Platform IP portfolio. They are also available for a range of SoC design services to help further ensure your success.
Trilinear Technologies, Inc., Oregon, USA
Trilinear Technologies, Inc. is a privately funded firm founded in 2006 and headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The company develops high definition (HD) video hardware IP cores for ASIC and FPGA systems, and targets the broadcast, consumer display, medical, mobile devices, military, and security markets.
Sales Partners
We have long-term relationships with several companies who have proven their ability to understand—and satisfy— the IP needs of engineers in their own local markets. These include Advanced Semiconductor Technology Ltd. (AST), BP&M, Maojet Technology Corp., Prototyping Japan, S2C, Spinnaker Systems, UnivEDA, Vector Co. Ltd., and Zumi Technologies.
