NewsCAST Expanding Model Libraries, Enhancing Information and Fun at Web Site

Pomona, New York, April 29, 1996 -- Electronic design automation (EDA) provider CAST, Inc. is now shipping new, expanded versions of its VHDL simulation and synthesis model libraries, and has redesigned its Web site to provide more information, easier navigation, and even some fun for VHDL designers.

CAST's Standard Component VHDL Library is aimed at designers of FPGAs and systems. The latest version, SCVL 3.0, now comprises two packages:

• SCVL-Logic includes simulation models of 2,500 popular ECL and TTL parts.
• SCVL-Memory includes simulation models of 3,000 popular memory devices.

SCVL models are precompiled for a variety of popular VHDL simulators on PC and Unix platforms, US pricing for SCVL-Logic is $995/PC and $1,995/Unix, and for SCVL-Memory $1,495/PC and $2,995/Unix.

For more advanced devices, CAST's V-Custom Series provides affordable VHDL models of processors, complex functions, and specialized devices. Featuring in-stock models like Intel's Pentium and Pentium Pro processors, memories from Samsung, NEC, and Ramtron, and a variety of coprocessors, network controllers, and timers, the V-Custom inventory grows every month.
